Principle

Main Door Material, Art and Colour: Solid Wood with Auspicious Carvings

Make the main door of solid wood such as teak, ideally with a little sandalwood, and carve auspicious symbols, mantras and floral designs on it. Energy takes on the chemistry of the material it passes through, so flush, ply, fibre and glass doors weaken the result.

What it does

Increases the power of the main door and reduces the ill effects of a wrong pada through material, art and colour.

Where

Main door

Samagri used

  • Teak or other good solid wood
  • A little sandalwood mixed in, as in royal doors
  • Carved Om, swastik, mantras, kalash and floral creepers (bel-boote)
  • Paint in the colour of the zone

How to do it

  1. 1Use solid wood for the main door
  2. 2Carve or apply Om, swastik, a mantra and floral designs
  3. 3Paint the door in the colour of the zone it stands in, using the zone colour chart

Cautions

  • Avoid flush doors of plywood made from thorny scrub; even a very costly house loses results with such a door
  • Fibre and glass main doors are not recommended

Explanation and notes

Old doors carried art with a message, like the temple carvings of Khajuraho; the more artistic the door, the more power it has. Using the colour of the zone also reduces the ill effects of a door built on a wrong pada.

Principleदो पल्ले युक्त मुख्य द्वार

Main Door Must Have Two Shutters (Ida and Pingala Principle)

The main door is the door of fortune: like the two nostrils it draws nature-given positive energy into the whole house and lets negative energy out. Its two shutters stand for ida and pingala, the two breaths that alternate roughly every hour.

Energy Boostingद्वार का मुख मंडल

Face-Like Main Door: Lamp Niches, Jharokhas, Tilak Symbol and Lips

Design the main door like a face: two shutters as the nostrils, two small niches as the eyes, two jharokhas as the ears, an Om or swastik as the tilak, and the threshold and upper frame as the lips. Ancient texts say such decoration multiplies the power of the main door many times.

Testing32 द्वार पद

Locating the 32 Door Padas (E1 to N8) on a House Map

Divide the 360 degrees around the centre of the house into 32 padas of 11.25 degrees each, one for each of the 32 guardian devtas of the outer ring, named E1 to E8, S1 to S8, W1 to W8 and N1 to N8. The pada in which the main door falls tells its result.

Principleपूर्व दिशा के द्वार पद

East Door Padas E1 to E8 and Their Results

In the East, E3 is the best door with abundant wealth and E4 brings government support and respect, while E5 suits administrators only. E1, E6, E7 and E8 should not hold the main door.

Principleदक्षिण दिशा के द्वार पद

South Door Padas and Their Results (S4 the Only Good One)

In the South only S4 (Grihakshat) gives happiness, peace, prosperity and business profit. S2, S3, S5, S6, S7 (the debt door) and S8 bring lack of children, servitude, suffering, selfishness, debt and disease.

Principleपश्चिम दिशा के द्वार पद

West Door Padas W1 to W8 and Their Results

In the West, W4 (Pushpadant) showers wealth and W5 (Varun) also gives wealth, while W1, W2, W3, W6, W7 and W8 bring short life, overspending, loss of money, government trouble, disease and a destructive mind.

Principleउत्तर दिशा के द्वार पद

North Door Padas N1 to N8 and Their Results

In the North, N3 brings sons and wealth, N4 (Bhallat) is the best of all 32 doors with windfall wealth, and N5 gives wealth with dharma and fame. N1, N2, N6, N7 and N8 bring suffering, enemies, family stress, faults in women and poverty.
