Door Coordination, Door Effects by Pad, Basements, Borings and Water Tanks
Completes the main door topic with the four types of coordination between the main door and the boundary gate (utsang, purna bahu, heen bahu, prishth bhang) and the reasons a door on a correct pad can still fail. Lists the results of main doors by pad: Mahalakshmi, debt, accident, theft, disease, insomnia, family discord, child birth, study and foreign travel doors, and the sarvatobhadra, nandavart, vardhaman and swastik door houses. Covers door aay sizing, door construction rules, plumb checking and dwar vedh, then basements and the zone-wise effects of borings, wells and underground, overhead and septic tanks, with the vidhi for closing old wells and borings. Ends with four practices that make a person immune to vastu dosh and a long doubt session.
Four practices protect a person from even a thousand vastu doshas or a wrongly placed door: a daily navgrah herb bath, tirth darshan in eclipses and vyatipat yoga, full use of swar all day, and daily abhishek with charan raj.
An E3-E4 main door is the best for chances of going abroad; those not getting a visa should sleep with their feet towards the West and keep the West and South heavy and well built.
Main door on E3-E4; heavy West and South; feet towards the West while sleeping
When a boring in the South or another wrong zone is abandoned for a new one, close the old pit permanently with five haldi, five supari, panch ratna and a silver swastik, then fill it with sand.
When a two-shutter main door is not possible, correct the single-shutter dosh with a painting, door power, door decoration or a door bandhan hung outside.
A well older than 25 years is a pujya (revered) seat of Varun devta and must never be filled in without a vidhi: transfer its deities into a coconut, lower a kalash, fill it with river sand and soil, and leave the coconut in a working well.
Old dug well in any wrong zone, such as the South-West or West
N4, E3 and W4 are the Mahalakshmi doors through which Lakshmi enters; a house with all three open sees a heavy flow of money and many sources of income.
N4 (Bhallat), E3 and W4 (Pushpdant) on the outer walls
A main door on an auspicious pad still fails when the route to the gate is wrong, when there is any vedh in front, when the house faces a cremation ground, or when the door is out of plumb.
A main door that leans inward or outward even by half a degree to two degrees stops giving results; check it with a plumb line (soot-saval) and a water level.
When the main door of the building and the boundary wall gate stand face to face in one line, the arrangement is utsang (sammukh) dwar, the best door coordination in any direction.
Main door and boundary wall gate opposite each other in one line
Coming out of the main door and reaching the boundary wall gate by moving clockwise forms purna bahu (complete arm) dwar, which completes the purpose of every outing.
Boundary wall gate placed clockwise from the main door
Leaving the main door and reaching the boundary wall gate by moving anti-clockwise forms heen bahu dwar, which cuts the results of even a correctly placed door.
Boundary wall gate placed anti-clockwise from the main door
When the boundary gate is on one side but the main door is opened at the back, so that one walks around the whole house to enter, the arrangement is prishth bhang dwar and gives no results.
Main door at the back of the house, opposite the side of the boundary gate
Each of these main door pads creates differences in the family for a particular reason, from anger and lies to poverty and crooked relatives; N6, S6 and S8 set father and son against each other.
A house with doors open on all four number-four pads, N4, E4, S4 and W4, is a sarvatobhadra house; no vastu dosh affects it, whatever defects lie inside.
Doors on N4 (Bhallat), E4, S4 (Grihakshat) and W4 (Pushpdant)
A house with two doors on N4 and E4, common in many homes, is a vardhaman house; it brings prosperity, happiness, peace and growth of sons and grandsons.
The main door should have two shutters opening inward and a height twice its width; doors and windows should be even in number, and window shutters should open outward.
An obstruction in front of the main door counts as vedh only within twice its reference height; for a 7 ft main door, anything within 14 ft is a vedh, and beyond double the distance it is not.
In flats and dense areas, a door facing the main door, a lift right in front, stairs going down in front, or the corner of another building pointing at the door all create dwar vedh.
Pits, wells, drains, poles, big trees, garbage, a road hitting the door or a long-vacant house in front of the main door each bring a specific harm, from disease to loss of lifespan.
A basement is a fully dug (100% underground) floor where sun rays and cosmic energy cannot reach, making it a dead part where the planets cannot spread their energy.
Build a basement only in the North, NNE, NE, East and ENE, or as a full basement that lets sun rays in; never in the South, South-West or the Brahmasthan.
N, NNE, NE, E and ENE; W and WNW only with the NE included
A basement without sunlight should not be used for sleeping or staying, a kitchen, a toilet, a patient or a locker; its entry should come from the North or East and its walls should be white.
A boring, dug well, pit or underground water tank gives very different results in each of the 16 zones: the North and North-East zones attract wealth, while the South, South-West and the centre bring death-like suffering and money loss.
The best place for a swimming pool is NNE and the North-East through ENE up to the East, leaving out the exact North-East diagonal (Shikhi devta); a sunken pool in the North-West is not good.
Make the septic tank in WNW as the first option and ESE as the second, never in the East or under the stairs, and run the underground drainage line clockwise from the South-West to the North-West.
WNW (first choice) or ESE (second); drainage line from SW to NW
An overhead tank can be built anywhere from the West to the North-West; NNW and the South-West are wrong, and a tank over the staircase is best avoided.
Stairs carry geopathic currents from below up through the building; stairs that turn clockwise increase the current, while stairs that turn anti-clockwise cause loss.
Use one whole glass mirror rather than small pieces, keep every mirror at least two feet above the floor, and never use plastic mirror film in place of a mirror.
North wall at an entrance, and any wall of the house or temple
Place the boundary (compound) wall gate in ENE for an East-facing plot, SSE for a South-facing plot, WNW for a West-facing plot and NNE for a North-facing plot.

Questions asked in this session
When does a main door built on a correct pad still not give proper results?
When the route to the boundary gate is heen bahu (anti-clockwise) or prishth bhang (circling the house), when there is any dwar vedh in front such as a T-point, shool vedh, pole, tree, pit or garbage, when the house faces a cremation ground, or when the door is out of plumb and leans inward or outward. In any of these cases even doors on N3, N4, E3, E4, S4 or W4 do not give their results.
Our house faces a cremation ground and despite hard work we have had no results for four years. What should we do?
A house facing a cremation ground drains about 90% of the effort, and changes made in it give only about 10% results. Mercury and mercury nails placed all around give some relief but not full results. Plan to leave the house and take another one in time to secure the future of the children.
A family with an N4 door has had only boys across generations. What can be done for a girl child?
N4, like N3 and W4, is a door that brings sons. Open an E2 door, which brings the birth of daughters. A home without a daughter is not a complete home.
My main door is on E4, yet since moving into this house I have had many money problems. Why?
First check whether the door is in plumb and level with a plumb line and water level, and whether a wall or another door stands in front of it. In this case the entrance was fine; the real cause was a full basement in the South and West portion, together with a problem in the North-East.
Which four things make a person immune to vastu dosh even when the house has many defects?
A daily bath in water in which a potli of the herbs of the nine planets has been dipped; tirth darshan during every eclipse and during vyatipat yoga; using swar in every daily activity from waking to sleeping; and daily abhishek of the consecrated deity, applying the dust of the feet of the deity on the forehead and sprinkling the abhishek water in the house above navel height.
Is it a dosh if the lift is to the side of my flat door rather than directly in front?
No. A lift creates dwar vedh only when it is exactly in front of the main door, where it obstructs luck and delays work. Its remedies are taught with the other remedies.
Bank lockers are kept in basements. Is that wrong?
Not all banks keep lockers in the basement. A study found that banks with lockers in the basement had the most NPA accounts, and such banks were also looted by big frauds. A locker should never be kept in a basement.
Many malls have parking in the basement. Is that right?
Yes. Work that needs no sun rays, such as vehicle parking, suits a basement, and bars and discos also run there. In Europe the heating system is placed in the basement, because vastu depends on local geography and climate; Indian principles do not apply as they are abroad, and foreign vastu is taught separately.
What is the effect of basements in hospitals, and can X-ray machines be kept there?
Functions that need no sun rays, such as storing materials, can be in a basement. X-ray machines can be used in a basement because they do not need sun rays; sunlight actually creates trouble for them.
Borings in the North, NNE, NE and ENE are very good, and the North-East is the best. Never bore exactly on the North-East diagonal corner, the seat of Shikhi devta.
How should a 4-inch sewer drain pipe running through the centre be judged?
The underground drainage line should run from the South-West towards the North-West, that is clockwise, and leave the plot at the North-West; that is good.
Are the water supply lines coming into the house counted as water bodies?
No. Water lines reach every zone anyway through washrooms and taps, and lines inside the ground do not have much effect. Only dirty water lines matter, which is why they should run clockwise.
They are the mason tools for checking that a wall or door is true: a plumb bob hanging on a thread like a pendulum shows whether it is in one line from top to bottom. Masons also use a guniya (L-shaped square) and a water level, and a vastu consultant should carry the plumb line and water level.
In a factory, where should the water used by labour be stored?
In the same places prescribed for underground and overhead water tanks; there is no separate location, whether the water is for the labour or for the owner.
Can a swimming tank above floor level be made in the North or North-West?
Yes. Above floor level it works in the North and in the North-West, and in the North-West it can also be built high up like an overhead tank. A tank at ground floor that is raised, with no pit, is acceptable.
Is a dirty water drainage chamber in the North-East, nine feet below floor level, acceptable?
When a chamber or tank goes deep enough, below navel level, it does not attract dosh, because in the human body, which follows vastu, the dirty matter also lies below the navel. A dirty chamber near the surface is not acceptable.
If the main door is on a negative pad, does a clockwise or anti-clockwise route to the boundary gate change its results?
Yes. A correctly placed door with an anti-clockwise (heen bahu) exit gives fewer good results than it should. A door on a negative pad such as E5 or E6, whose route runs clockwise to a gate on W4 or W5, gives much less negative effect than the pad alone would.
We live in a housing society and do not know where the boring or septic tank is. Will it still affect us?
Yes. Not knowing makes no difference: the sun gives its rays whether or not someone believes in it, and a person who knows nothing of vastu still gets its doshas. A wrongly placed tank, boring, septic tank or sewer line affects the residents whether they know about it or not.
A well older than 25 years is a seat of Varun devta and must not simply be filled in. Do the vastu registry with a coconut, asking the deities of the well to enter it, do three pradakshina, and after a few hours leave the coconut in another well in daily use. Lower a kalash marked with a swastik and filled with haldi and other items, add soil or sand of five rivers (or sea sand), and fill the well with good soil.
Is an overhead tank right in NNW, and should it be in the South-West or the North-West?
Not in NNW. An overhead tank can be built from the West up to the North-West; making it in the South-West, as many people do, is wrong. Build it in the North-West.
Is a glass panel fixed above the door for light included in the door height for aay?
No. The chaukhat is the four-piece frame, and a window or glass above it is not counted in the door aay, because fixed glass stays closed; glass that opens and closes would be counted. Fixed glass above a door is itself used as a remedy.
Only if the stairs are in the North-West; otherwise not. Basically an overhead tank should not be built over the stairs, because hydro currents move as you walk below it and the mind becomes unsettled.
A North window has its shutter kept closed. Can the shutter be removed and a jali (mesh) fitted?
Yes. The North results then start coming, though not fully; you get as much as is open. Through a window only air comes in, whereas people come in through the door.
At a large scale it works: a city may have a river, lake or pond in its West, and a big industrial unit may have a large pond in the West, the place of Varun devta.
The main door has a single shutter and a double shutter is not possible. What should be done?
Correct it with a painting, door power, door decoration (door sajja) or a door bandhan hung outside. Where the door has one shutter, keep a bandhanwar always hung on it and the dosh is not counted.
Is the peephole (door eye) in the main door a dosh?
No. It is part of the door system and is sealed with a lens or glass, so it is not a chhidra yukt dwar. Only a hole passing right through the door makes a chhidra yukt (holed) door.
Must the house be at 0 degrees for a sarvatobhadra dwar?
By definition it is at 0 degrees with doors in all four directions, but it can be made otherwise too: build the doors on whichever pads fall on Pushpdant, Grihakshat, Bhallat and E4.
Outward. The door brings energy into the house, while the window is there to throw out the negativity created inside, so its shutters should open outward.
If the main door and boundary gate face each other but fall on different pads, is it still good?
Yes, if the offset is within one pad (11.25 degrees). For example, a gate on N4 with a main door spread over N4 and N5, mostly in N4, or a main door on N4 with the gate on the N4-N5 junction, still counts as utsang (sammukh) dwar.
In a flat, if the stairs are in the anti-clockwise direction of the house, is it a vedh?
It is a dosh, not a vedh. Stairs carry the geopathic currents from below up the building; a current moving clockwise grows while one moving anti-clockwise is lost, just as spinning clockwise and anti-clockwise feel very different.
Do these effects, such as insomnia, apply to room doors, and does only the owner suffer?
They apply to the main door of the house, not to room doors. The people in whose name the house is and who invested in it feel the effects most, but other members can be affected too.
Multiply the length by the width and divide by 8; the remainder is the aay. For example, a door 36 inches wide and 72 inches (6 ft) high gives 36 x 72. Remember that even x even always gives an even remainder.
