Methodभूमि विभाजन

Dividing a Plan into Brahma, Dev, Manushya and Pishach Bhoomi (0.33-0.55-0.77)

A quick manual method to divide any plan into the concentric bhoomis of the 81-pada grid by multiplying the centre-to-corner distance by 0.33, 0.55 and 0.77.

What it does

Locates the zones where the 45 vastu devtas sit in a home or business plan within a few minutes.

Where

Whole plot or building plan of any shape

Samagri used

  • Plan of the plot or building
  • Scale (ruler)
  • Pencil

How to do it

  1. 1Find the centre: draw both diagonals on a regular plot, or lines from the centre to every corner on a pentagonal, hexagonal or irregular plot
  2. 2Measure the distance from the centre to a corner, for example 15.5 cm
  3. 3Multiply it by 0.33, 0.55 and 0.77; 15.5 cm gives about 5.1, 8.6 and 12 cm
  4. 4Put the zero of the scale on the centre and mark these three distances on every centre-to-corner line
  5. 5Join the marks to form concentric rings: brahma bhoomi at the centre, then dev bhoomi, manushya bhoomi and the outer pishach bhoomi
  6. 6Erase the line between dev and manushya bhoomi, as present-day 81-pada vastu combines them

Cautions

  • Use the measurement from your own plan; the example values will differ

Explanation and notes

32 devtas sit in the outer pishach bhoomi, 12 in the combined dev-manushya bhoomi and Brahma in the brahmasthan, making 45. Learning to do this by hand builds confidence in reading any map.

Principleवास्तु पुरुष

Origin of Vastu Purush and the 45 Devtas, and Why They Matter

During Shiva's battle with Andhakasura a drop of his sweat produced a starving mahabhoot; devas and asuras laid him face down and 45 devtas sat on him, creating 45 places with separate functions on every plot. Brahma made him his manas putra and promised that whoever occupies land would remember and feed him.
