A swastik made of peacock feathers at the Shikhi pad keeps this devta active 24 hours a day, all year and for life, without elaborate rituals. The teacher called it the biggest brahmastra and remedy for Shikhi.
A short formula to build the mantra of any of the 45 devtas yourself: chant the name as Om Shri [devta name] Namah, or put the beej syllable of the devta element between Om and Namah.
An amla tree planted at the Shikhi pad in the boundary area, an amla plant in a pot, or simply amla fruit kept there lets the devta absorb cosmic energy and keeps the pad full of energy.
Shikhi pad, E1, in the boundary (pishach bhoomi) area
A coconut set on a small water-filled clay kalash at the Parjanya pad, with the water poured into tulsi and refilled daily, activates Parjanya; when the coconut sprouts, the devta is awake.
Parjanya pad, E2; it can also stand outside a door that falls at E2
Burying crystal quartz points or slices at the Parjanya pad exactly five angul below the surface, touching the soil, restores production and removes obstacles in work.
When work has slowed or stopped, the mind is blocked or orders have dried up, drill the relevant one-eighth part of the Shikhi pad with a core cutter and fill it with crystal; energy builds up very fast.
A small desi cow ghee diya and above all a bhimseni kapoor lamp, the fragrance Shikhi likes most, correct a cut, raised, dirty, uneven or toilet-affected Shikhi pad and a blocked mind.
Shikhi is itself a guru, so a picture of a great guru such as Adi Brahma or Adinath, their disciples, your own guru, a sadhu or a yogi, or their teachings written in a granth, kept at this pad balances it.
A small turmeric plant, or better a daru haldi plant, kept in a pot at the Parjanya pad captures the sun's energy and releases it all day, bringing riddhi, siddhi, prosperity and happiness.
A water kalash with five mango leaves and a coconut, set on a cow-dung-plastered spot with rangoli at the Shikhi pad, with white mustard, yellow mustard or pukhraj added by need, makes the yogi Shikhi fulfil the wishes of the residents.
A daily havan of makhana (kamal gatta) with desi cow ghee at the Parjanya pad, begun on one's own nakshatra day and continued for 45 days, develops fertility in couples who cannot conceive.
A garland of makhana strung on thread and a picture of a cow suckling its calf, kept at the Parjanya pad, treat poor production and poor results in education.
A silver Om with a swastik on the floor of the Shikhi pad spreads the energy of Om through the house; Om stands for Jupiter and silver for the Moon, the two planets of this devta.
Floor of the Shikhi pad, E1; also the Parjanya pad, E2, when the main door is there
A picture of bright white gandharva nagar clouds, cloud formations that look like palaces, hung at the Parjanya pad fulfils plans and wishes and treats a dosh at E2 without other changes.
The elephant (Airavat, the many-trunked mount of Indra) is the symbol of Mahendra; an elephant placed at E4 brings the devta to sit there and give results.
A havan of elaichi (cardamom) at the Mahendra pad, or elaichi tied in a green potli and hung there, supports the success, happiness and peace given by Indra dev.
Grate dried coconut (gola), mix it with white sandalwood and ghee, and perform a havan at the Bhrisha pad to remove confusion and decide quickly and correctly.
Rise before sunrise and do Surya namaskar; for better results fast on Sunday with one salt-free meal, or at least keep a one-hour fast without water after sunrise.
Bhrisha loves the champa and firdaus fragrances; use firdaus ittar when offering bhog or havan samagri, and apply it when the mind cannot concentrate or reach a decision.
When work is never done on time and people do not keep time, place an ankush (elephant goad) at the Surya pad in the East and bury it in the ground, or bury a gold swastik there.
When there is too much lying in the house, draw a kesar swastik on a banyan leaf in an auspicious muhurta during chandra swar and place it at the Satya devta pad.
The special treatment of Jayant: a round silver symbol of two moons joined into a full moon with a swastik engraved, placed at E3; for a major E3 dosh a silver tortoise is buried there.
E3 (Jayant) pad: tortoise in the ground, chhatra and moon on the wall
The special treatment of Mahendra is a silver moon engraved with a swastik (and the marks drawn in class), hung at the E4 pad at its time while the chandra swar flows with water or earth tatva.
When the East is fully blocked by an adjoining wall, make an opening (duct) from the top on the East side so the overhead Sun can send its rays inside at its time.
The tree of Jayant is sandalwood; since it cannot be grown in a pot, plant tulsi at E3 and stand a small sandalwood stick in the pot so the fragrance spreads through the house.
The vajra, the weapon of Indra, hung at the Mahendra pad or buried in its ground removes obstacles and demonic influences blocking happiness, prosperity and work.
In which direction should the ghat diya method be done?
Do not think of it as a lamp burning for 24 hours in the Agneya (South-East). Use a small diya and place it in the Ishaan (North-East), because the devtas seated in the Ishaan, such as Shikhi, help a great deal.
What should be done if the shilanyas (foundation stone) has been laid in the wrong direction?
Fix a fresh auspicious muhurta for shilanyas, dissolve (khandit) the earlier one, and perform it again in the new muhurta. It is dissolved the way an installed kalash is removed: by addressing the devtas who supported the earlier shilanyas with a request about it.
A pad is one of the equal sections into which a plot is divided. For 81 pad vastu a house, for example 90 by 90 ft, is divided into 9 by 9 equal sections and each section is one pad; the larger grids, such as the 1000 pad grid, divide the plot into many more equal sections. Some areas such as the Brahmasthan cover several padas together even if the drawing does not show their inner divisions.
In 81 pad vastu, which devtas fall in the North and North-East zones?
Exact North falls on Soma (N5), with Bhallat at N4. The North zone is made of half of Bhallat (5.625 degrees), the full Soma (11.25 degrees) and half of Bhujang (5.625 degrees); North falling between Bhallat and Soma belongs to the 64 pad grid. The North-East zone is half of Diti (5.625 degrees), the full Shikhi (11.25 degrees) and half of Parjanya (5.625 degrees).
I learned elsewhere that in 81 pad vastu the East falls between E4 and E5. Is that right?
No. In 81 pad vastu exact East falls on E5 (Surya); East between E4 and E5 belongs to the 64 pad grid, so correct it. The reference is in Vishwakarma Prakash, with the page number given in the previous class; the Hindi translation from Sanskrit by Krishna Kumar Jugnu of Udaipur and the edition of Maharshi Abhay Katyayan give the same.
The North-West was given green as its colour, but the shakti chakra shows it in blue. Why?
The colour on the chakra is the colour of the devta of that zone, not of the element; the North devtas are shown in red, for example, which is not a colour to paint there. The air element has both green and blue as its colours.
How are the 64 pad grid and the padas of each devta worked out?
Every pad grid divides the plot into equal sections, for example 81 equal sections for the 81 pad grid; the number of padas each devta occupies is then assigned within that grid. Drawing the devtas by hand will be taught practically in the 81 pad class.
Is there any length to width criterion for the centre, for example in a 250 x 50 feet plot?
There is no criterion for finding the centre; the centre is always the centre. The proportion matters for the plot itself: up to 1:1.5 is good (30 x 45 feet is ideal), up to 1:2 (30 x 60) is neither good nor bad, and longer than that is not good, with more loss the longer it gets. In such long plots many devtas fall outside or get cut, and they need treatment.
Is there any AutoCAD software for marking the marma points?
No special software is needed. Draw the chakra and devta lines once in AutoCAD as short reference lines; for every new map just align them and join the lines, which takes about a minute.
If bhoomi vibhajan is not done in a flat, is devta marking still done, given that the 32 devtas lie in the Pishach bhoomi?
Yes. Devta marking is done in a flat exactly as usual, also to judge the main door location. What does not apply is the rule of leaving the Pishach bhoomi empty: inside a flat the corners and side spaces can be used.
