Co-relation of Elements: Match the Person, the Room and the Activity
The first principle of interior vastu: identify the element of the person, of the structure being built and of the activity done there, and make sure these elements are friends.
What it does
Reads a person's working element from behaviour when planning their space.
Explanation and notes
Fire: fierce and sharp, harsh and sharp speech, very daring, blood-red complexion, looks at others from a height, eyelids pulled upward. Air: does everything in a hurry, feet never settle, sways while walking, leaves one task half done for the next, slow to decide and often confused, fickle and very talkative, starts speaking without listening. Earth: measured steps like an elephant, little swaying, wheatish complexion, thinks before acting, serious, kind, religious and helpful, listens seriously, muscular, neither fat nor thin. Water: sweet speech, gentle nature, fair complexion, soft-hearted and always smiling, slightly fat; eats little yet gains weight because, like an AC that makes a bucket of water overnight, draws water from the universe (water retention).
Before any interior, fix the goal of the space, study the owner's kundali, check the current (energy) flow and base every arrangement, colour and artifact on planet combinations. Harmful yogas of the kundali must never be recreated with artifacts, while good yogas should be built.
Interior vastu is emotion and action controlled by the interior: what the eye sees daily at home changes the mind. Pictures of God and loving family scenes bring good thoughts, while vulgar, violent or sorrowful images change emotions at once.
For a person who gets angry often, the room is done up only with anger-controlling, mind-calming portraits, photos, idols, artifacts, symbols and colour combinations.
Family photos at home should show the whole family complete from head to feet, with no hand or foot cut, and statues or idols should show the full body. Close-up face photos and cut or bust figures bring trouble.
Everyone is made of the five elements; a person likes the colour of their own element or of its friend element, and the exact shade they like matches the percentage of that element within them.
Humans are made of four working elements, water, earth, fire and air; nobody belongs to the space element alone. Water and earth are friends, fire and air are friends, water and fire are enemies, earth and air are enemies, while water-air and earth-fire are sam-mitra (neutral friends).
The element friendship chart is also the basis of compatibility: two people of the same element or of friendly elements (water with earth, fire with air) keep a heart-to-heart bond. Compare the rashi elements of both before a marriage, partnership or close friendship.
A person's element comes from the janma rashi, the rashi number written with the Moon (Cha) in the kundali. Writing the 12 rashis in order under Fire, Earth, Air and Water gives each element three rashis.
