Janma Rashi vs Naam Rashi: Which Element to Use Where

The janma rashi (Moon sign) runs the whole life and is used for stable works such as house construction muhurta and marriage, while the rashi of the name in use can be used for business records. Naming a child by the janma rashi keeps the person's element unchanged.

How to do it

  1. 1Use the janma rashi for permanent works: muhurta for building a house, marriage and other stable works
  2. 2Use the element of the name in daily use for business, since passbook, bank, GST and tax records carry that name
  3. 3When naming a child, prefer a name from the janma rashi
  4. 4If that is not possible, choose a name from a friendly rashi or friendly element

Cautions

  • A name from an unrelated rashi creates a different element and turns the person into a cocktail of elements

Explanation and notes

Ancestors advised naming by the janma rashi so that the person's element stays the same; name, work and emotions can all change the element. Example: a birth rashi of Mithun with a popular name from Mesh gives air by birth and fire by name.
