Can the main door be in the North-North-East?
What is the difference between the lagna kundali and the KP chart, and which is used for interiors?

Use only the lagna (birth) kundali for interiors. The KP chart is based on nakshatras and is not bad, but there is no need to debate it here.

A couple sleeps in the SW; one has an exalted Rahu and the other a debilitated Rahu. Can they sleep there?

Yes. After marriage, as in the hathleva ritual, the planets of one partner overlap the other, and the exalted planet's influence prevails.

Is a tall chimney in the South-East a dosh?

No. In practice even very tall chimneys in the SE showed no dosh, because the fire element always goes upward, as swar vigyan also shows; a rising chimney suits fire.

Where should the papers of a running court case be kept?

Keep the court case file in the North-East. The NE gives justice through transparency and clarity of mind, and some say it also brings a quick decision.

Rahu is in Mesh in the 10th house. Can I sleep in the South-West?
A wooden temple with elephant figures stands in the North-East. Is that fine?

Elephant figures should stand on something solid, not hang in the air. The temple can stay, but a temple with elephants is better placed in the West.

In a flat the structure cannot be changed. What can be done?

That is exactly what interior vastu is for: balance the element with its shapes, symbols, artifacts, idols, showpieces and materials to nullify the defect. For example, silver represents the Moon, so a silver artifact or a moon figure can be placed there. Like a doctor's supplement for a vitamin deficiency, the missing element is supplied; Ayurveda, allopathy, jyotish and vastu all run on the elements.

Should a home temple have a dome (shikhar)?

A small temple at home should not have a big dome or shikhar; keep it small.

What is the remedy for a bedroom in the South-East?

The dosh nivaran for this has not been covered yet and will be taught later. A SE bedroom gives tension unless Venus is exalted.

The floor from South to West should be raised to hold the energy. Should a balcony on that side also be raised?

Yes, a balcony on that side should not be low; keep it higher, though level also works. Another principle also works: raise the centre and slope the floor toward all directions, which makes kurma prishtha (tortoise-back) land.

The West is best for the temple. If the West is a balcony, can it be covered and the deities hung, since they are not consecrated?

Hanging is ruled out for consecrated deities: if the idols are pran-pratishthit (consecrated), they must never hang.

If the North, the opportunity and attraction zone, is cut, how can it be balanced?

Extend it with the symbols and materials of the North element, with plants and many other items.

If a toilet in a wrong zone is closed and not used, does it still have an effect?

Yes, 100 percent. Just as a picture changes the mind, a built toilet is itself a figure (aakriti), so even an unused toilet gives its effect.

In the vastu purush concept, should the NE diagonal be kept free of an underground water tank?

Correct, not on the exact diagonal where the head of Shikhi devta falls. Vedic vastu calculates the Shishu Pishach points, and no shilanyas pit, water pit or any other pit is dug on them; this is taught in the diploma.

My birth rashi is Mithun (air) and my name is from Simha (fire). Is that a problem?

No problem. When a name cannot be taken from the birth rashi, it can be taken from a friend rashi or friend element; air makes fire blaze, so they are friends.

The East of my house is completely closed by the neighbouring house. What is the solution?

This is taught in the coming classes: which symbols and pictures to use when a direction is blocked or has a dosh, and how to nullify it. This class covered only what should be where.

What is uttarayan, and does it reverse the zone energies described?

There are uttarayan and dakshinayan suns. When the Sun is uttarayan its composition is more energetic, so all auspicious ceremonies are done then; the dakshinayan Sun's composition is not as good. The zone layout does not become wrong; the Sun's composition at each angle of inclination explains which energy is needed for which work.

What is the difference between janma rashi and naam rashi, for example a birth rashi of Mithun with a name rashi of Kark?

The janma rashi runs the whole life, so all stable works such as the muhurta for building a house and marriage are done by it. If the name is not from the janma rashi, its rashi gives a different element, which can be used in business, because bank, GST and tax records carry that name.

How do I find my janma rashi? Is it the lagna number?

It is not the lagna number. In your kundali, the number written next to the Moon (Cha) is your janma rashi: 1 Mesh, 2 Vrishabh, 3 Mithun and so on up to 12 Meen. For example, a Moon with 12 means Meen rashi.

Can a staircase be built in the East?

No. Nobody has the courage to stop the Sun's rays, and whatever blocks them is ruined, so no staircase or high structure in the East.

Can a garden be made in the East?

Yes, a garden can be made in the East; even a bedroom can be made there for a person whose Sun is exalted.

Can a children's room be in the East-South-East?

Yes, for small children below 12 years there is no problem; the belief that they will over-churn there is a myth. Adults' rooms should not be there, but for a PhD or research scholar the ESE is the best zone.

If Rahu is debilitated, is Ketu also debilitated?

Yes. Rahu and Ketu are shadow planets; if one is debilitated, the other always is. This is covered in detail later.

Does Rahu in the 8th house also rule out a South-West bedroom?

Check only debilitation, not the 8th house. Not every 8th-house placement is bad.
