Principle

False Ceiling Shapes Matched to the Element of the Zone

A ceiling's shape brings its element into the room, so ceilings are shaped by zone: half-moon in water zones, a round dome at the Brahmasthan, a rectangle in South and West bedrooms, and never a triangle.

What it does

To balance the element of each zone through ceiling shape.

Where

Ceilings, zone by zone

How to do it

  1. 1In water-element zones on the North side, make a half-moon (ardh chandrakar) shape; a circular shape also works in the North
  2. 2At the Brahmasthan, make a round dome or circular shape
  3. 3In bedrooms in the South-West, West-South-West or South, make a rectangle
  4. 4Leave no hollow gap above the ceiling design

Cautions

  • Do not make triangle, pentagon, octagon, flattened or T shapes
  • A triangular ceiling creates fights, disputes, tension, anxiety and hyperacidity
  • A triangle at the Brahmasthan brings fire there
  • Irregular sun-like shapes are not good; the sun rises in the East, not at the centre
  • Avoid a double-moon (full round) shape in the North-West

Explanation and notes

Royal palaces had round domes at the centre. Changing the shape alone can balance an element. Square and rectangle both represent the earth element.
