How to Offer Bhog Samagri to Vastu Devtas on a Paan Leaf or Leaf Dona

Bhog must be served to each devta at its own pad, in a dona made of leaves or on a paan leaf, with a request to accept it, just as food is served to a guest. Items merely lying in the house are not an offering.

What it does

Feeds and pleases the devtas so they increase the energy of their pads.

Where

At each devta's own pad

When

Ideally at shilanyas; if the devtas were not worshipped during construction, at the latest at griha pravesh

Samagri used

  • Dish (pakwan) made in desi cow ghee, such as gujiya
  • Sprouted grain such as sprouted moong, for Parjanya
  • Dona made of leaves, or a paan leaf

How to do it

  1. 1Prepare a dish in desi cow ghee, or the devta's own samagri
  2. 2Place it in a leaf dona or on a paan leaf, which the devtas like very much
  3. 3Put it on the devta's pad
  4. 4Request the devta to accept the samagri and increase the energy of the place

Cautions

  • Things lying around the house are not arpan or samarpan; serve the offering and invite the devta, as with a guest

Explanation and notes

Guests do not help themselves from ten sweets on the dining table; you serve their plate and invite them to start. Brahma promised the Vastu Purush food and water and told him to stay calm; when it is given, universal energy is captured and the place stays balanced.

Principleवास्तु पुरुष

Origin of Vastu Purush and the 45 Devtas, and Why They Matter

During Shiva's battle with Andhakasura a drop of his sweat produced a starving mahabhoot; devas and asuras laid him face down and 45 devtas sat on him, creating 45 places with separate functions on every plot. Brahma made him his manas putra and promised that whoever occupies land would remember and feed him.
