Facing North uses the earth's magnetic field for attraction and focus: in business the owner faces North to draw customers, cash drawers and the tijori face North, and tratak or hypnotism is practised facing North.

Children who cannot concentrate on studies often have a study table that is not level, so the gravitational force on it is not balanced. The same applies to a shop counter and the owner's seat (gaddi).

There are 32 door positions, chosen with the help of the nine planets and twelve rashis, and the right one depends on whether the building is a home or a particular industry. Doors are studied as the boundary wall door, the main door, the main chamber door and the combination door.

Land is classed by its slope pattern. Kurma prishth (tortoise-back) land, raised in the middle and sloping on all sides, is the best for business and temples; Gaj, Daitya and Naag prishth slopes are unfavourable, and Daitya and Naag land destroy business.
A slope toward the North-East is best for homes, temples and schools, while business premises do best with a slope toward the North or North-North-East, then the North-East. Slopes toward the South, South-East, South-West, West and North-West each bring specific harm.
The swar a land brings on decides its best use: land that activates the Chandra (left) nadi suits homes, temples, schools and finance work, while land that activates the Surya (right) nadi suits business and industry. Land on which both nadis run is the worst of all.
Soil colour has long been linked to the work a land suits: red soil for the Kshatriya (hard-working people), yellow for the Brahmin, black for the Shudra and white for the Vaishya. Today a whole town often shares one soil type due to its geology, so colour is read together with texture, smell and taste.
Both grids hold the same 45 vastu devtas, but the 81-pada mandala is used for homes and business premises while the 64-pada mandala is used for temples, villages, palaces (raj mandir), towns and city gates.

Colour changes the speed of work: in a warehouse, the same labourers loaded goods from a red godown in about half the time they needed in a light violet one.
Every trade belongs to a planet; using that planet's colour, shape, artefacts, paintings, metals, mirrors and glass at the business multiplies its energy, while a clashing colour can shut it down.
An office must be full of energy, with the chairman's cabin longer on the North-South axis, the owner facing North, proper ventilation, perfectly level furniture and a floor sloping to the North-East.

Each zone favours a particular kind of office: East for administration, North for finance, West for engineering and profit, WSW for every office, SW for employment and stability and ENE for media.
Excellent: East, West, WSW, SW, North. Moderate: SSE, NNW, NW (transport). Avoid: SE, SSW (unless energised with quartz), WNW.
Large business doors and shop shutters often span two to four padas. When the favourable pada, for example S4, is fully included and open, the door gives the results of that pada.
Each trade has a supporting colour: yellow for every business, red for jewellery, chemicals, sweets and fire-related work, white for education, cloth and stationery, and green for health; black and grey only in small amounts.
Kota stone (about 40 percent lime and 22 percent silica) is cool and full of good energy; it represents Mercury and is the best stone for stairs and business floors, especially in green.
Solid wooden flooring is the best, ceramic tiles suit business, vitrified tiles are acceptable, and laminate (melamine, a petroleum by-product) should be avoided.
Before doing an interior, get the birth chart analysed: heavy use of the colours, materials or showpieces of a debilitated (neech) planet becomes the biggest trouble, and items unknowingly put in a wrong zone can suddenly bring unrest, disease and failure.
A planet-wise list of businesses by door direction was shared as a PDF: the East (Sun) and North-East group suits education, paper, wood, milk, grain, consultancy, political and administrative trades, and the South-East (Mars, fire) suits electrical, hotel, restaurant and cosmetics businesses.
Curtains please the mind and also affect the planets, so their colour is chosen by the kundli, the element and the zone where they hang. For a business, take the colour of a supporting planet among the 10th, 9th, 11th or 2nd house lords, or else the 5th lord.

Bank lockers are kept in basements. Is that wrong?
Not all banks keep lockers in the basement. A study found that banks with lockers in the basement had the most NPA accounts, and such banks were also looted by big frauds. A locker should never be kept in a basement.
Which pada grid is used for homes and businesses, and which for temples and towns?
Both the 81-pada and the 64-pada grids carry the 45 devtas. The 81-pada vastu is used for homes and business premises, while the 64-pada vastu is used for temples, villages, royal palaces (raj mandir) and towns, including a town gate. This course teaches the 45 devtas on the 81-pada grid.
Which businesses and professions does each East devta support?
Shikhi devta (E1) is directly linked to Jupiter-related businesses such as accounts, banking and education, and supports big industries and factories. Jayant (E3) gives the most success in light-weight goods, plastic items and the paper and plastic industries, and the steel industry was named next. Mahendra (E4) suits people who need a job or service, especially government jobs, contracts and tenders, and Surya (E5) rules politics, administration and government work. A chart showing the business and bhog samagri under every devta was promised.
Which devta governs work such as consultancy, priesthood or judging?
Two devtas govern consultancy work (their names are unclear in the recording). In this class Mahendra (E4) is called the devta of successful consultants, and Satya (E6) the good advisor and decision-maker, with a court or justice room best made at E6.
Can yellow mustard or dig vandana reduce a labour shortage in a business?
Yes, dig vandana with yellow mustard helps. The biggest brahmastra for labour problems is a mustard oil lamp lit in the South-East (Agni kon), because Saturn rules labour and mustard oil belongs to Saturn; a black lamp is even better.
Green represents Budh (Mercury), and finance and accounts belong to Mercury. Using the colour of the planet that rules the work strengthens it; even clothes and pen ink act as interior vastu, which is also why lawyers choose black.
A shop shutter often spans four padas, such as S3, S4, S5 and S6. Which pada decides the results?
Do not worry that S3 and S6 are also open: if the good pada, S4, is open within the shutter, the shop gives the results of S4, because when energy enters from every part, positive and negative, the result follows the positive. Trouble comes only when the good part is closed and the bad parts are open; then keep the shutter closed and open a small door on the good pada instead. In combination doors for business, always keep the favourable pada fully open.
